If you already know who your attorneys and certificate provider will be and have their details available, the online information-gathering stage can be relatively quick.
Honour LPA is designed for a typical straightforward questionnaire to take around 15 minutes, but there is no need to finish in one sitting because progress can be saved.
Stage 2: reviewing and signing
After the documents are prepared, everyone who needs to sign must do so in the correct order. How long this takes depends on how quickly the donor, certificate provider, attorneys and witnesses can complete their sections.
The donor signs before the certificate provider, and the attorneys sign after the certificate provider.
Stage 3: Office of the Public Guardian processing
The Office of the Public Guardian service status dated 1 September 2026 says it takes around 8 to 10 weeks to process and register applications. That period includes a statutory waiting period.
Registration can take longer if there are mistakes, missing information or objections.
How to reduce avoidable delays
- Check names, dates and addresses before printing.
- Use a valid certificate provider.
- Follow the signing and dating order exactly.
- Make sure every required attorney and witness section is complete.
